Heaptalk, Jakarta — To maintain the price stability and food commodities availability in 2024, The Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (Bappebti) ensures to optimize the development of the warehouse receipt system (SRG).

On Thursday (11/01) the head of Bappebti Kasan in the 2024 Bappebti Performance Meeting declared during the online meeting through Zoom, “The choice of commodity is essential to the importance of the price stability and for the availability of supplies commodities compared to the ones entering  in the warehouse. The importance is needed both for domestic or export.”

Through this opportunity, Kasan explained, the system built within the SRG and PLK are both related to the Commodity Futures Market (PBK). “Therefore, the price of commodity importers to PBK is also formed in the SRG and PLK,” he stressed.

Furthermore, Kasan explained, the price will be functioned later for inflation stability in every region.

“Thus when the pricing has already existed in the PBK, it will soon be created a price commodity from the auction market, as well as from the SRG. Then the availability of food commodities managed by SRG can also help us, especially for inflation stability,” explained Kasan.

For that matter, Bappeti asked for support from the Local Government concerning the policy that supports the operation of SRG or PLK’s business activities.

Apart from SRG, this year Bappeti will also put its focus on the crypto exchange. Kasan mentioned that currently there are 32 registered crypto asset traders.

Conversely, Bappeti is also preparing the task shifting and crypto exchange monitoring from Bappebti to Financial Services Authority (OJK), according to the Financial Sector Development and Strengthening Law (P2SK).

“We are also preparing ourselves for a transition period from crypto exchange to OJK. Besides the crypto exchange that includes as one of the innovations under the finance technology sector, there’s also a derivative financial sector that will be shifted to OJK,” said Kasan.

Kasan also said, Bappebti will put its focus on the continuation of crude palm oil exchange or CPO exchange, the strengthened commodities trade for tin, digital gold and multilateral transactions, as well as increasing supervision of prospective customers who will join PBK.
