Heaptalk, Jakarta — President Jokowi appointed Rosan Roeslani as Minister of Investment, replacing Bahlil Lahadalia, and Supratman Andi Agtas as Minister of Law and Human Rights, replacing Yasonna Laoly during the announcement of the latest cabinet reshuffle on Monday (08/19). Additionally, Bahlil Lahadalia was appointed Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), replacing Arifin Tasrif. Meanwhile, Angga Raka Prabowo was appointed Deputy Minister of Communication and Informatics. Here are brief profiles of these individuals:

  1. Rosan Roeslani as Minister of Investment

Rosan Roeslani is no stranger to the Indonesian government. He has held several strategic positions, including Indonesia’s Ambassador to the United States (US) since 2021 and Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in 2023. Born in Jakarta on December 31, 1968, Rosan’s successful tenure in these strategic roles led President Jokowi to appoint him as Minister of Investment. Jokowi is optimistic that the Ministry of Investment, which had already made significant progress under Bahlil, will advance even further under Rosan’s leadership.

  1. Supratman Andi Agtas as Minister of Law and Human Rights

Supratman previously served as the Chairman of the Legislative Body of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI). As of August 6, 2024, he was succeeded by Wihadi Wiyanto. Supratman has also served as Chairman of Real Estate Indonesia (REI) Central Sulawesi from 2004 to 2010 and Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) in Central Sulawesi. Born in Soppeng on September 28, 1969, he completed his Ph.D. in Law at the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI), Makassar, in 2016.

  1. Bahlil Lahadalia as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources

Bahlil Lahadalia previously served as Minister of Investment. Before joining the cabinet, Bahlil was active in the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) since 2003, eventually becoming its chairman for 2015-2019. He also led trade delegations of young entrepreneurs to Japan in 2016 and Europe in 2018 (Hipmi-Europe Trade Mission 2018).

  1. Angga Raka Prabowo as Deputy Minister of Communication and Informatics

Angga Raka Prabowo is a loyal supporter of the elected President and Chairman of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto. Since joining Gerindra in 2008, he has experienced ups and downs with Prabowo. This dedication led President Jokowi to appoint him as Deputy Minister of Communication and Informatics. Jokowi is confident that under Angga Raka’s leadership, the Ministry will become more solid.
