Heaptalk, Jakarta — To accelerate digital transformation, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) is targeting the operational launch of the National Data Center (PDN) 1 by June 2025.
“PDN is a critical foundation for strengthening the government’s digital ecosystem. We are collaborating with Bappenas (National Development Planning Agency) and related ministries to ensure an integrated and sustainable system,” said Communication and Digital Minister Meutya Hafid during a meeting with the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas in Jakarta on Friday (05/02).

Meutya explained that PDN 1 underwent a handover process in March 2025 and is now entering the security assessment and operational phase conducted by the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN). She emphasized, “We are targeting the operational trial to begin in June.”
The accelerated development of the National Data Center is part of the government’s efforts to support President Prabowo Subianto’s 8 Quick Wins programs and 17 national priority programs. One key objective is ensuring more transparent and accountable social assistance distribution through reliable digital technology.
Furthermore, the government plans to build three National Data Centers to strengthen digital infrastructure. In addition to PDN 1, which will soon be operational, PDN 2 and PDN 3 are being prepared under a co-sharing scheme currently under discussion to expedite implementation.
Meutya also highlighted the urgency of strengthening operational backups. “Currently, backup options rely on the Temporary National Data Center (PDNS), but the budget has not yet been allocated. If not budgeted soon, there is a risk of the system running without redundancy, which is far from ideal,” she concluded.
