Heaptalk, Jakarta — West Kutai Regent FX Yapan inaugurated the chairman and members of the Large Customary Institution management for the 2023-2029 period as well as the management of the Punggawa Punggadikng which took place at Lamin Tunjung, Sendawar Cultural Park, Barong Tongkok District (10/30).
This agenda was attended by Dandim 0912/Kbr, representatives of the Police, echelon officials within the Regency Secretariat, customary heads and administrators, community organizations, as well as customary and community leaders.
In his remarks, FX Yapan congratulated and expressed his appreciation for the inauguration of Manar Dimansyah Gamas as Chair of the Large Customary Institution of West Kutai Regency and the board of directors for the 2023-2028 period. On the occasion, he also appointed Mikhael User as head of the Punggawa Punggadikng.
FX Yapan said that thus far his party has been greatly helped by the presence of village heads and district customary heads since the development of an area cannot be done alone without cooperation with other parties, including local customary institutions.

Therefore, he asked that this management be able to unite, harmonize, and bind the fellowship in a frame of mutual care, understanding, mutual help, complementarity, and perfection. Apart from that, he also urged the management to be neutral in carrying out their activities without looking at religious, economic, and educational backgrounds, but instead focus on affinity and togetherness.
He further encouraged these two institutions to also play a role as creative economy activists and cultural figures as well as be active in various social actions to advance West Kutai. FX Yapan hoped that in the future these institutions could educate the next generation about the customs and culture that are the legacy of their ancestors.
“It is my great hope that in the future the contribution and dedication that we have provided can be felt in real terms by the community, both within this institutional community and at large,” concluded FX Yapan. (Translated by Sinta)
