Starting the Dahau Festival, West Kutai Govt holds a customary meeting of the Rurant Adat Sempekat

Heaptalk, Jakarta — West Kutai Regency Government held the Rurant Adat Sempekat event, a group meal meeting attended by officials and various levels of society at Lamin Oheng Barong Tongkok (10/23).

This meeting was attended by 150 guests, including Regent FX Yapan and Vice Regent Edyanto Arkan. In his remarks, FX Yapan thanked the invited guests who had attended the opening ceremony of the 24th Dahau Festival.

FX Yapan asked the Dahau Festival committee to carry out their duties well to make the series of Dahau events a success until November 5, 2023. “Likewise, the National Police can maintain security to make the event run smoothly and safely,” said FX Yapan at the Rurant Adat Sempekat customary meeting (10/23).

Currently, preparations for welcoming President Joko Widodo have reached 100%. In addition, there will be another important agenda, namely the inauguration of the regency customary council. On the occasion, FX Yapan said that the Regency Government was grateful for the presence of Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in Kalimantan.  He added, “As one of the capital’s buffer areas, certainly the development of the capital has a positive impact, especially on the economic sector.”

Meanwhile, Head of Operations at the West Kutai Police AKP E. Teguh Budi said that his party accepted and supported the Dahau Festival activities which took place for fourteen days from October 23 to November 5, 2023.

Teguh voiced, “We will place members to secure openly and privately the activities of both the implementation and the residents of West Kutai Regency.” At the Rurant Adat Sempekat customary meeting, he also asked the community to work together in maintaining security during the Dahau Festival 2023. This event can be held safely and conducive with the cooperation and support of all elements of society. (Translated by Sinta)
