Heaptalk, Jakarta – According to the newest data from the National Waste Management Information System (SIPSN) Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), around 34,29% or equals to 7,2 million tons of national waste has still yet managed effectively.
In response to this matter, blu by BCA Digital, Rekosistem, and Garuda Indonesia, work together to introduce an innovative solution through the launching of two Reko Waste Station in Garuda Operation Center (GSO), Soekarno-Hatta Airport area, Cengkareng, Tangerang, and Garuda Indonesia Training Center (GITC), Duri Kosambi, West Jakarta.
“Through the launching of two Reko Waste Station at two points in the Garuda Indonesia office area, the public around GSO, Cengkareng, and GITC, Duri Kosambi can participate in creating a sustainable environment through waste management especially recycled waste by handing it over to those two points,” explained the CEO of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra on the press conference with the media crew at Garuda Operation Center, Soekarno-Hatta Airport area, Thursday (21/12)
Irfan Setiaputra added that the collaboration with blu by BCA Digital and Rekosistem in presenting Reko Waste Station is a form of Garuda Indonesia’s sustainability commitment as the national flag carrier in supporting sustainable environment after previously being active in practicing initiatives to establish sustainability, which recently being held through commercial the first bioavtur fueled commercial flight in Indonesia as well as being the first global commercial flight in the world to use renewable energy fuel based on palm kernel oil.
“Having the same mission with blu by BCA Digital and Rekosistem to create a sustainable environment for future generations. The existence of Reko Waste Station is not only to contribute the socialization and the provision of waste management facility especially for recycled waste, both for stakeholders in the Garuda Indonesia’s office area environment and local communities and business actors, but it is also hoped to inspire public to preserve a sustainable environment in the future,” explained Irfan.
Meanwhile, Duardi Prihandiko, SVP, Head of Marketing Communications BCA Digital said, “Through the initiative campaign #bluBuatBaik, we tried to become a part of the solution by using the utilization of our technology to encourage Indonesian people’s habits in managing waste, and innovations that support system development and better waste management techniques. Reko Waste Station does not merely become the center point of waste management, but additionally becomes a cross-sector collaboration symbol in terms of overcoming the critical environmental problems.
