Heaptalk, Jakarta — Vice President Ma’ruf Amin inaugurated the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2024 at ICE BSD on Thursday (07/18).
In his opening remarks, Ma’ruf Amin expressed his hope that Indonesia’s most extensive exhibition could strengthen the Indonesian automotive sector internationally. “I hope the organization of this event can stimulate the independence of the national automotive industry and strengthen Indonesia’s position on the international stage,” Ma’ruf said.
On this occasion, he urged all automotive industry players present to improve the quality and quantity of human resources. He also hoped that the automotive industry’s products would meet international standards. He stated, “This is important considering the automotive manufacturing industry has great potential in creating millions of new jobs.”
The domestic automotive industry is expected to continuously drive innovation by studying and observing the prospects of innovation developments and modifying them while considering the capacity and capability of local content in Indonesia.
Additionally, the Vice President wants the automotive industry to adapt and respond to rapid technological changes to boost competitiveness. Thus, Indonesian automotive products can become more competitive in the increasingly dynamic global market. “I express my appreciation to all parties who support the success of this event. Finally, by saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I officially declare the 31st Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2024 open,” Ma’ruf concluded.
