The Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia delivered his appreciation for Association of Municipal Governments’ (Apkasi) breakthrough in developing regions’ potential and creating new economic growth areas.

“I would like to deliver my great appreciation to Apkasi for its breakthrough which not only transformed public services, from the general administration context, but also develop the region’s economy, specifically by creating a new economic growth zone,” stated Bahlil during the closing ceremony of Apkasi Expo 2023 (07/23).

Bahlil, further, conveyed that the investment realization in 2022 surprisingly exceed the target, “Thank God, investment realization in 2022 attained Rp1,207 trillion, exceeding the target mandated by the President which was Rp1,200 trillion”. This number also demonstrated a significant increase compared to the investment realization in 2021 which only reached Rp900 trillion.

For the forthcoming year, Bahlil stated, “The President instructs to attain investment realization of Rp1,400 trillion in 2024 because this number is a condition to maintain our economy, to grow above 5%. The target set is out of the oil and gas and financial sector. Thank God, today, the investment is recorded to attain Rp 678.6 trillion.”

In addition, he uttered that Indonesia has moved its focus, from java centric to Indonesia-centric. “Since our independence until 2020, the investment value in outer Java remained diminutive. The President, further, delivered a mandate to transform this condition, to build Indonesia, not to become Java-centric but Indonesia-centric. Therefore, I transform the regulation, from Q3 2020 to Q2 2023, alhamdulillah, investment value in outer Java is bigger than Java, achieving 53%.”
