Heaptalk, Jakarta – The 4th ITSEC Cybersecurity Summit is set to take place at The Ritz-Carlton, Pacific Place Jakarta from August 26 to 28. The three-day event is expected to draw an audience of 600 participants, aiming to raise public awareness about the importance of cybersecurity, provide insights on the latest trends, and encourage stakeholders to adopt this crucial technology, especially in the face of the growing digital transformation.
In 2024, the BSSN Cybersecurity Contact Center received 1,814 cyber complaints from various sectors, totaling 330,527,636 anomalies across Indonesia. These figures continue to rise as digitalization advances, highlighting the need for robust cybersecurity measures.
Joseph Edi Hut Lumban Gaol, President Director of PT ITSEC Asia Tbk, emphasized that cybersecurity adoption is no longer optional but an urgent necessity, considering the increasing and often invisible cyber threats that have very real consequences.
Meanwhile, Eko Prasudi Widianto, Director of PT ITSEC Asia Tbk, shared insights on cybersecurity awareness in Indonesia, which is categorized into three levels: high, medium, and low. High awareness is typically seen in industries with greater pressure to safeguard against cyberattacks, such as the financial sector. However, the number of companies with medium to low awareness is far higher. This indicates that ongoing efforts to raise awareness and promote cybersecurity adoption must continue.
To increase public awareness, the ITSEC Cybersecurity Summit will be held, marking PT ITSEC Asia Tbk’s 15th anniversary. This year’s summit promises to be different from previous editions. With the theme “The Largest Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity Event in Southeast Asia,” the event will involve not only cybersecurity practitioners but also the broader community, including students.
“This year’s summit will be more inclusive than ever, as we aim to engage the entire community, including students. We have designed the summit as a platform for all stakeholders to discuss and build practical solutions in the cybersecurity industry,” Joseph said during a press conference on April 28 at Artotel Kuningan, Jakarta.
Joseph also expressed his hopes for the event, stating, “While this is a conference, we aim to make it a movement. It’s not just about sales for us, but about creating a platform for collaboration.”
The ITSEC Cybersecurity Summit will feature a wide range of exciting activities, including conferences, competitions, cybersecurity clinics, exhibitions, and a mini-stage. The event will also host a gala dinner and a golf activity to provide opportunities for networking.
