At the opening of ICEF 2023, Minister Sri Mulyani explained that the number of products included in the e-catalog display had reached 5.6 million.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia Catalogue Expo and Forum (ICEF) has officially opened by Indonesia’s Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, at the Jakarta International Expo. (08/03)

During her opening speech at the event, Minister Sri admitted, “This event is a good collaboration of the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin). Today’s business matching agenda becomes a significant way of mediation, expected to reduce the use of imported products that continuously grow.”

In her further statement, Sri affirmed that the government would continue to support numerous activities regarding the State Budget (APBN) utilization as the most critical instrument to enhance and reinforce the use of domestic products. Based on her perspective, e-catalog transactions encourage business actors’ participation, specifically in government procurement and business entities. Through the e-catalog, Sri expects government spending transactions to reach US$32.9 billion, approximately Rp500 trillion.

Refers to the LKPP data, the number of products included in the e-catalog display has reached 5.6 million. To get the targeted PDN spending of 95%, President Jokowi previously suggested that the product must not only be stepped in the e-catalog, but the government must also purchase the products.

“We also support the use of local products by continuing to strengthen production, competitiveness, quality, and competitive prices. We appreciate Indonesia’s Kadin, the Ministry of Industry, and LKPP for overseeing the national industrial use program to make Indonesia’s industrial sector more competitive. With various joint efforts, we expect Indonesia’s economy to be stronger to survive and continue to grow,” Ministry Sri said in her statement.

As information, ICEF is an exhibition that Kadin Indonesia conducted in collaboration with Indonesia’s LKPP, Indonesia’s Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Law and Human Rights. Employing the Freedom to Shop Domestic Products as the theme, with the tagline Becoming a Hero in Your Own Country by Buying the Domestic Products (PDN), conducting ICEF 2023 aims to encourage the optimization of PDN spending by ministries, agencies, ranks, provincial, city, district governments that use the APBN and APBD through the use of e-catalogs.

ICEF is held on August 3 – 5, 2023, and is attended by around 106 exhibitors from various business sectors, such as health, public facilities, equipment, technology, medicine, security equipment, labor services, food, and beverages.
