Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Amsterdam Coffee Festival 2025 will be held from April 3 to 5, 2025, with the theme ‘Sustainable Coffee.’ Roemah Indonesia BV will participate in the festival, showcasing the rich flavors of Indonesian coffee, harmoniously blending with local traditions, and a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.
“Based on sustainable agroforestry practices, Roemah Indonesia BV is presenting the talun system, a complex form of agroforestry unique to Indonesia that has stood the test of time. This model mimics natural forest ecosystems and creates a sustainable balance where coffee is planted alongside various trees and other crops, providing natural shade for the coffee plants. Talun has proven effective in maintaining natural land regeneration, reducing deforestation, preserving biodiversity, and delivering tangible economic benefits for local farmers,” said Roemah Indonesia BV in a written statement on Monday (03/24).
In addition to promoting sustainable farming methods, Roemah Indonesia BV highlights Indonesia’s unique post-harvest process—wet-hulling—as an answer to climate challenges. Roemah Indonesia BV stated, “In this process, coffee beans are peeled and washed before drying, allowing for faster and more efficient drying under high rainfall conditions. Wet-hulling preserves the premium coffee flavor quality and supports farmers’ livelihoods.”
End-to-end partnerships are key to strengthening Indonesia’s coffee industry. Embracing the spirit of collaboration, Roemah Indonesia BV, together with Mind.id; BCA; BNI; Jamkrindo; SMBC; Suji Premium Handcrafted; Rayana Roastery; Toko Kopi Tuku; Beragam Rasa Indonesia; Koperasi Klasik Beans; Delano Communication and supported by PMO Kopi dan Kakao Nusantara; the Trade Attaché of Indonesia in the Netherlands; and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in the Netherlands, embodies Indonesian pride in bringing responsibly-produced high-quality coffee and palm sugar to the international stage at the Amsterdam Coffee Festival 2025.
Through this event, Roemah Indonesia BV and its partners introduce the story behind every cup of coffee—a journey that reflects responsibility towards nature, the well-being of farmers, and the preservation of Indonesia’s globally renowned coffee culture.
