Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT Pupuk Indonesia organized the Pesona Kriya event at Sarinah Thamrin, Central Jakarta on February 26-28, 2024. This event aims to empower MSMEs, especially Indonesian heritage (wastra) and handicrafts, to penetrate the global market.
In his opening remarks, President Director of Pupuk Indonesia Rahmad Pribadi said that this event reflects Pupuk Indonesia Group’s commitment to advancing MSMEs through development programs under the management of the Social and Environmental Responsibility unit.
“Pesona Kriya Pupuk Indonesia 2024 is a form of Pupuk Indonesia Group’s assistance for MSMEs and the company’s commitment to supporting the advancement of Indonesian culture through wastra products. This is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals pillars of Decent Work and Economic Growth implemented by Pupuk Indonesia as the largest fertilizer producer in Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and North Africa,” Rahmad said in Sarinah, Central Jakarta (02/26).
Pesona Kriya features 41 MSMEs at the bazaar and fashion show, consisting of 35 MSMEs assisted by Pupuk Indonesia Group, 5 established brands, and Biofarma. To date, Pupuk Indonesia has provided coaching and capital assistance to 2,221 MSMEs throughout Indonesia, 257 of which are engaged in the industrial sector, including the creative industry.
Rahmad stated that Pupuk Indonesia’s partnership with MSMEs aims to create a sustainable ecosystem as well as improve the economy and independence of MSME actors, particularly women as vulnerable groups. MSMEs are an important part of the national economy, contributing almost 61% of GDP and employing around 97% of the workforce. The coaching program is carried out by providing capital loans and increasing competence. This way, MSMEs can create products that are competitive at the national and global level, especially in wastra sector run by women.
Pesona Kriya Pupuk Indonesia is a positive step for Pupuk Indonesia Group in supporting inclusive and sustainable local economic growth. The event, which is held to commemorate the 8th anniversary of the Pupuk Indonesia Group Employee Wives Association (PIKA-PI), is also expected to become a medium for the exchange of ideas and collaboration that can enrich the local fashion sector.
Chair of the PIKA-PI Group Tata Rahmad Pribadi said that her party recognized the importance of fostering and developing MSMEs in harmony with preserving Indonesia’s cultural heritage. “We hope that Pesona Kriya Pupuk Indonesia 2024 will be able to have a significant positive impact on the development of MSMEs assisted by Pupuk Indonesia Group. Apart from that, through this activity we want to provide opportunities for all MSMEs to enter international markets,” Tata concluded.
