Heaptalk, Jakarta — The electric vehicle exhibition Periklindo Electric Vehicles Show (PEVS) 2024, held from April 30 to May 5, eyes transactions worth Rp400 Billion, approximately US$25.2 million.
“This figure is higher than the realized transactions at PEVS 2023, which amounted to Rp375 billion. Additionally, the number of visitors to PEVS 2024, which will be held at JIExpo Kemayoran, is targeted to reach more than 40,000 people. Maybe this target will be exceeded because the number of exhibiting brands has increased from the previous year,” said the General Chair of the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Association (Periklindo) Moeldoko at the PEVS 2024 press conference which took place in Jakarta, Monday (04/22).
Periklindo hoped that PEVS could promote, educate, and facilitate transactions for electric vehicles, which are now popular among the public. This exhibition is also expected to become a hub between vehicle manufacturers, business partners, and potential general consumers.
Presenting more than 80 brands
The President Director of Dyandra Promosindo Daswar Marpaung expressed optimism that the transaction value in 2024 could be realized. “This year, we are targeting transactions of more than Rp400 billion since the exhibition will be more lively this time,” said Daswar Marpaung.
According to Daswar, the reason is that the number of electric vehicles is increasing. Data from the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) prove this: In 2023, 12,248 electric car units were used by the public, compared to 8,562 units in 2022.
Meanwhile, the number of electric motorbikes in Indonesia in 2023 will be 62,409 units, compared to 17,198 units in 2022. “The increase in the use of electric motorbikes has reached 262%, which is very impressive. We are optimistic that PEVS 2024 will again achieve greater success considering the increasing public interest,” he said.
Meanwhile, Project Manager PEVS 2024 Rudi MF said this year’s event was attended by more than 80 brands, including Wuling Motors, Hyundai, Neta, Seres, DFSK, Chery, BYD, Morris Garage, Mobil Anak Bangsa (MAB), and distributors such as BMW Astra and Prestige Motors for cars. In the electric motorbike section, Keeway EV, Gesits, Volta, V Move, Kymco, ZPT, Rakata, and Astra Honda Motor, will enliven PEVS 2024.
