Heaptalk, Jakarta – This year marks a significant milestone for the Muslim Fashion Festival (MUFFEST)+, Indonesia’s largest modest fashion event, as it celebrates its 10th anniversary. Officially titled MUFFEST+ Road to IN2MOTIONFEST 2025, the event is organized by the Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC) in collaboration with Gemalindo Kreasi Indonesia. It will take place from February 20-23, 2025, at Hall A of the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC).
For its 10th edition, MUFFEST+ carries the theme “Connecting in Style”, emphasizing friendship and solidarity through shared experiences in Indonesia’s modest fashion industry. This theme reflects the unique fusion of urban lifestyle and Indonesia’s diverse cultural heritage, reinforcing a strong identity within the global Muslim fashion community.
The event highlights the diversity of Indonesia’s modest fashion scene, featuring styles ranging from streetwear and urban contemporary to evening wear and syar’i fashion. MUFFEST+ also champions sustainability, incorporating eco-friendly practices as a key element in positioning Indonesia as a global modest fashion hub.
The grand opening of MUFFEST+ Road to IN2MOTIONFEST 2025 was officiated by key industry figures, including Reni Yanita, Director General of Small, Medium, and Various Industries at Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry; Ita Rulina, Executive Director of the Department of Islamic Economics and Finance at Bank Indonesia; Lenny Agustin, National Chair of the Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC); and Irvan Mahidin, CEO of PT. Gemalindo Kreasi Indonesia.
In her speech, Lenny Agustin emphasized Indonesia’s commitment to becoming a center for global modest fashion. “We envision Indonesia not only as a hub for modest fashion in terms of aesthetics but also in culture, behavior, and responsibility toward the environment. MUFFEST+ consistently promotes a sustainable lifestyle alongside modest fashion, guiding Indonesian designers to foster a sustainable ecosystem within the industry,” she stated.
Over the past decade, MUFFEST+ has played a crucial role in showcasing the diversity of Indonesian modest fashion while reinforcing sustainability as a competitive edge. A key aspect of this commitment is the consistent use of wastra Nusantara—Indonesia’s traditional textiles—in the collections presented at the festival.
Lisa Fitria, Project Director of MUFFEST+ Road to IN2MOTIONFEST 2025, reflected on the event’s growth and impact. “MUFFEST+ has been a witness to the evolution of Indonesia’s modest fashion industry. When we look back to 2016, many participating brands were small or newly established. Now, as we celebrate MUFFEST+’s 10th year, these brands have grown into medium-scale businesses, with some even becoming major industry players. Beyond elevating modest fashion in Indonesia, they have also created jobs and contributed to economic and social well-being,” she remarked.
As MUFFEST+ continues its journey, it remains a driving force in positioning Indonesia as a global leader in modest fashion. By embracing innovation, sustainability, and cultural heritage, the event paves the way for Indonesian designers to shine on the international stage, further solidifying the nation’s reputation as a modest fashion powerhouse.
