Heaptalk, Jakarta — Megabuild Indonesia 2025 officially kicked off at Halls A and B of the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) from April 24 to 27. Organized by Panorama Media, the event showcased building materials, interior design, architecture, and a construction exhibition and conference.
Featuring over 500 products from various local and international brands, Megabuild Indonesia aims to be a strategic platform that strengthens collaboration between industry, government, and the public in creating innovative and sustainable future living spaces.
The 22nd edition of the exhibition carries the theme ‘Innovating for a Sustainable Tomorrow,’ highlighting smart technological innovations that use construction for sustainable lifestyles. Some showcased green material innovations include cross-laminated timber (CLT), smart home technology, and recycled products that support sustainable development.

Royanto Handaya, President Director of Panorama Media, stated that this exhibition is dedicated to Indonesia’s architecture, interior design, building materials, and construction communities. Indonesia’s economic growth reached 5.03% in 2024, with the construction sector contributing 5.81%. Royanto said the construction industry remains a driving force in Indonesia’s economic development.
“Our role as organizers is not only to facilitate business connections but also to contribute to the growth of all stakeholders in the construction industry. We aim to build an ecosystem that maximizes the potential of this sector, which still holds significant opportunities as a key driver of Indonesia’s economic growth,” Royanto added in his opening remarks at JICC Senayan (04/24).
Industry optimism amid global uncertainty

Sidhi Wiguna Teh, an architect and urban planner who also serves as the exhibition’s curator, expressed optimism about the domestic construction industry. Amid global uncertainties caused by trade wars, Indonesia can overcome challenges by strengthening local industries through technological innovation and eco-friendly materials while expanding business networks via platforms like Megabuild.
“Trade wars demand greater independence and creativity in developing construction products that are economically efficient and contribute to carbon emission reduction. Megabuild Indonesia 2025 showcases various green material solutions such as cross-laminated timber (CLT), smart home technology, and recycled products that support sustainable development,” Sidhi explained.
Irene Umar, Vice Minister of Creative Economy, emphasized that Indonesia must seize opportunities to introduce its architectural and interior design innovations in the international market. The country’s strength no longer lies in mass production but in personalization and design innovation that highlights the uniqueness and quality of local products.
Furthermore, Irene stressed the importance of cross-sector collaboration and fostering self-love in showcasing domestic talent. “Let’s work together to promote our creations internationally. Don’t hesitate to show how incredible Indonesian products are,” she concluded.
