Heaptalk, Jakarta — Perupa Jakarta (Peruja), Jakarta’s fine arts organization, announced it would hold an exhibition in its new gallery and secretariat office in South Jakarta. The exhibition is organized to manifest Peruja’s vision, namely to empower the Jakarta’s artist solidarity as well as burn their spirit to uphold cultural values owned by the nation.
“The aim of the exhibition is to commemorate the National Heroes Day 2021, particularly, we would like to strengthen our friendship as Jakarta’s artists and increase our solidarity. We are the citizen of Jakarta, thus, Perupa Jakarta should be the host in our own city,” Andi Suandi, the Chairman of Perupa Jakarta, said in a statement (08/11).
The grand opening of the exhibition is set to be performed simultaneously with the inauguration of its new gallery and secretariat office on Thursday, 11th November 2021 at 7 pm local time. The event will take place in Ciputat Raya Street No. 10C, South Jakarta, by adopting “Spirit of Humanity” as the theme.
Andi delivered that the theme selected was based on the concept of bringing out artists’ identities and unifying them. The fusion of the artists’ soul will revive a great spirit that is in line with the radiance of spirit our national’s heroes has channeled.
During the launch, the chairman of Penulis Satu Pena Association Andi J.A. is scheduled to attend the event to convey the opening remarks. Additionally, around 52 of the Peruja’s members will give their contribution, one of which is through presenting attractive performances such as poetry reading and classical music shows.
The performance will also be combined with the exhibition of artworks created by the Peruja’s members in the form of sculpture, contemporary artwork, as well as painting as its dominant artwork. Each member, according to Andi, contributes one artwork to support the success of the event.
Refers to the exhibition’s agenda, the event will be held for a month, starting from 11th November to 11th December 2021. In the course of the occasion, Peruja will hold artists’ talk shows, art workshops, film screenings.
The organization established in 2019 also provides a free registration fee for people to enjoy the exhibition and appreciate the artwork. The opening of the gallery, as well as the exhibition, are expected can promote Indonesia’s cultural heritage preservation movement.
