Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Jakarta Auto Week 2022 has been officially opened by Indonesia’s Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang in Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta (03/15). The opening ceremony was also inaugurated by Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics Industry (ILMATE), Taufiek Bawazier.

During his keynote speech in the ceremony, Agus stated that the JAW 2022 can be a moment for customers to understand more regarding the automotive regulations and the future actions of GAIKINDO, which aligns with the government to espouse the automotive industry.

The General Chairman of GAIKINDO, Yohannes Nangoi, expressed his gratitude to Indonesia’s Government for its complete support and wise regulations to the automotive industry in Indonesia. He expected Jakarta Auto Week 2022 can be a golden moment for Indonesia’s automotive industries to rise. This exhibition will be GAIKINDO’s sustainable plan to retain the automotive market passion in Indonesia.

Also, on the opening ceremony, Nangoi added his statement, “The automotive industry will continue to retain sales performance. We expect the organizing of Jakarta Auto Week 2022 can give new encouragement for sales rates in the automotive sector in Indonesia,”

The JAW 2022 exhibition is a place for Indonesia’s automotive industry to present the best promotions to encourage sales rates in the Q1 of this year. The list of well-known automotive brands has enlivened the exhibition, including Daihatsu, Honda, Hyundai, Lexus, KIA, Mazda, MG, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Suzuki, Toyota, Isuzu, and Wuling. During the occasion, the exhibitors display their latest products with the best offers during this event.

The exhibition has been opened for nine days, starting from March 12th to 20th, 2022 with the operation hour is from 11.00 to 21.00 WIB on weekdays. JAW provides an alternative time if the visitors want to see numerous automotive brands on the weekends, starting at 10.00 – 21.00 WIB.

This automotive event implements strict health protocols to avoid COVID-19 transmission, which is still happening in Indonesia. Visitors who attend the exhibition must ensure that they have complied with several conditions. They must show a complete vaccine doses certificate for those over 12 years old, while visitors aged 6-12 years must provide at least from the initial vaccine dose registered in the PeduliLindungi app.

“We need to deliver our appreciation on the organizers and all Jakarta Auto Week 2022 exhibitors. I expect a series of exhibition activities and special promo offers can raise motor vehicle sales in Indonesia to accelerate the revival of the national automotive industry, which has multiple effects for other economic sectors significantly,” concluded Agus in his closing statement.
