Heaptalk, Jakarta — On Tuesday (22/06) PT Kredit Pintar Indonesia (KPI), Indonesia’s fintech lending platform, officially announced the launch of its new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. By adopting the theme “Chasing Dream”, the program leads the Firm to contribute to underprivileged people. One of the first beneficiaries who received benefits from the program is the Muslim Nusantara Orphanage.

Located at Setiabudi South Jakarta, the Muslim Nusantara fosters a total of thirty underprivileged children aged between seven to fifteen years old. Most children raised in the shelter derive from Jakarta and Central Java. The Entity views that children are Indonesia’s successor candidates. Although the unfortunate fate has appeared before them, the children remain to have a right to reach their dreams. In order to assist the children in embodying their desire, facilitation towards education and accessing information is required. For this reason, under the “Chasing Dreams” program, the Firm has embedded an internet connection to the Orphanage so as the children will have the privilege to search for information for a whole year.

The internet installation is expected can assist children in performing learning activities such as browse information about the assignment and attend a class that nowadays is conducted online. In line with the Firm’s goal, the program is run to drive Indonesia’s digital literacy while supporting national education.

In addition to the education field, KPI is also concerned about health issues that became popular during the pandemic. The concern is manifested from the Firm’s action in distributing aids to the Foundation. On the last May, the platform that has been downloaded more than ten million times had donated multivitamins and staple food to maintain the children’s health.

Monica Melinda, a Caretaker at Muslim Nusantara Orphanage, stated, “We are delighted to receive this support from Kredit Pintar and believe learning activities will be greatly improved as a result of internet access, which so many people around the world take for granted. I’m also grateful for earlier donations of groceries and multivitamins in May this year, which have been integral in providing the right nutritional needs for the children we care for, as well as for ourselves as the caretakers, during the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Yasmine Meylia, Head of Government Relations at Kredit Pintar, said, “Internet is a crucial part of the learning process, and we’re confident that the facilitation will help the young children at Muslim Nusantara Orphanage to discover and materialize their dreams due to better access to the education materials. We also expect that “Chasing Dreams”, the Kredit Pintar CSR program, will act as a shade for our future education campaigns.’’

As a financial technology company, Kredit Pintar has a mission will enhance Indonesian’s welfare by providing financial access to the underbanked and unbanked people. Formerly, the Company has donated 10,000 masks to a hospital in Tangerang, and distributed hygiene kits to commuters in Jakarta. The activity was carried out to support the Government program towards the implementation of health protocol during the pandemic as well as increase awareness of the importance of hygiene.
