Heaptalk, Jakarta – As one of the world’s largest coffee-producing countries, Indonesia is honored to host the prestigious World of Coffee 2025 Jakarta, marking the first time this global event will be held in Southeast Asia.
The event, organized by Exporum Korea in collaboration with the Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia (SCAI) and Dyandra Promosindo as the official local partners, will take place from May 15–17, 2025 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC).
This event aims to introduce Indonesian coffee to the global market while also serving as a forum for dialogue between coffee industry stakeholders, the government, and strategic partners.
According to Kangmin Kim, representative of Exporum Korea, Indonesia holds a significant position in the global coffee industry. “As both a major producer and consumer market, Indonesia offers diversity and unique coffee characteristics. That’s why it is the ideal location to host World of Coffee 2025,” Kangmin Kim said.
“It is an honor for me to collaborate with such an amazing team in bringing this event to life. We are all looking forward to the inspiring ideas, discussions, and partnerships that will emerge from this occasion. I believe World of Coffee 2025 in Jakarta will be a milestone for the Indonesian coffee industry and a platform to expand the global coffee community. We are excited to welcome everyone to World of Coffee Jakarta next week,” Kangmin added during the press conference at Excelso Central Park, Jakarta, on Thursday (05/08).
Meanwhile, Daryanto Witarsa, Chairman of the Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia (SCAI), stated that Indonesia—with its vast territory and large population—is known for its rich and bold coffee flavor and is recognized globally as the fourth largest coffee producer in the world.
“This potential must be fully optimized, especially as the hosting of World of Coffee Jakarta is expected to have a positive impact on Indonesia’s economy and elevate the profile of Indonesian coffee worldwide. We’ve been waiting for this for 10 years. World of Coffee is usually held in consumer countries. This is the first time we’re bringing it to Indonesia as a producer country,” said Daryanto.
World of Coffee 2025 Jakarta will feature over 300 exhibitors from five countries, including Indonesian coffee farmers, green bean exporters and importers, roasters, beverage and packaging equipment suppliers, confectionery and bakery producers, café décor and furniture designers, logistics companies, bottled water suppliers, and other manufacturers.
Additionally, the event will include a variety of programs across its three-day span. Highlights include the SCA Lounge, SCA Lecture Series, Cupping Room, Brew Bars, SCA x PMO Kopi Nusantara, producer sessions, and the World Brewers Cup Championship.
Three new features exclusive to the Jakarta edition are also set to debut:
-
Nusantara Pavilion – a special area for local governments to showcase their regional coffee;
-
Farmers Village – a dedicated space for showcasing coffee from Indonesian farmers;
-
Origin Trip – an exclusive tour program for WOC 2025 VIPs, sponsors, and exhibitors to visit one of Indonesia’s leading coffee plantations.
