Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia Furniture and Design Expo (IFFINA) 2024 officially opened on September 14 at Indonesia Convention Center (ICE) BSD.
The Chairman of the Indonesian Furniture Industry and Handicraft Association (ASMINDO), Dedy Rochimat, conveyed that IFFINA is expected to level up Indonesian furniture and handicraft industries.
“Encompasses 18,000 sqm, IFFINA 2024 is expected to stimulate the Indonesian export market while strengthening the local market amidst the global economic challenges,” added Dedy.
The Minister of Cooperation and MSMEs, Teten Masduki, stated that IFFINA 2024 could expand the reach of the domestic furniture industry and assist local businesses in introducing their products to international market.
“This event is a good step to encourage the furniture industry to escalate their quality to meet international standards,” voiced Minister Teten.
Regarding the industry performance, during the opening ceremony of IFFINA 2024, Dedy explained that the industry is expected to increase by 30% to attain USD2.38 billion. For this reason, the organizing of IFFINA can be a moment for the industries to revive.
“This event aims to support the development of furniture and handicraft industries to meet international standard by creating ecosystem for the industry players, connecting the potency of national market with export demand.
Organized from 14 to 17 September, the four-day event is expected to amplify and integrate the supply chain of furniture and handicraft industries.
Dedy also said that IFFINA is expected to attract 15,000 visitors, both locals and international visitors. ASMINDO explained that the furniture expo has attracted over 200 companies from 80 countries and targets a transaction value enhancement of 30% year over year.
