Heaptalk, Jakarta — Entering the second week of Indonesia Energy and Engineering (IEE) Series 2024, Engineering Week is organized from 11 to 14 September 2024 at JIExpo Jakarta. In its implementation, ASEAN largest industry event presents seven primary sectors, including mining, oil and gas, construction and concrete and metal foundry, metallurgy, and disaster management and civil protection.
During the interview session, the Country Manager of PT Pamerindo Indonesia, Lia Indriasari highlighted the presence of disaster management sector and civil protection in this expo. She said, “We collaborate with Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as the sectors presented in IEE Series are relevant to this sector. For example, mining, construction, oil and gas, they are very prone to disaster, they need to carry out mitigation when the disaster happened”.
Encompasses a total area of 85,000 sqm at JIExpo Kemayoran Jakarta, the B2B expo is participated by over 2,800 exhibitors from 44 countries worldwide. Lia voiced that most of the heavy equipment are imported, but she noticed the transformation undertaken by the exhibitors to presents electric-based product to support SDG goal.
“During the VIP tour, I noticed that around 20% to 25% of the exhibitors present EV trucks and heavy equipment. Previously, I only found around one or two companies who exhibited electric products, but now the growth of EV products is significant,” said Lia.
Lia also conveyed that the presence of made-in-China products is attractive, perceiving its competitive price and technology.
“Specifically, China, the country has high competitiveness in the market as they offer broad product lines with advanced technology and affordable price,” she added, “Around 15-20% of exhibitors for heavy equipment are from China”.
In the near future, Lia said, “We hope we can collaborate with more stakeholders. In my opening speech, I underscored pentahelix collaboration that involved numerous stakeholders, including private companies, EO, government, community, mass media, and more. This is required to ensure that all actions can be well implemented.”
