Heaptalk, Jakarta — Heineken, the beer brand that sponsors the UEFA Champions League, is holding the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour in Jakarta, Indonesia, from April 13–15, 2025. This year, the tour targets football fans in the professional and office worker segments in the heart of the capital city.
During the tour, Heineken brought two UEFA Champions League legends—former Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger and former Manchester United winger Luís Nani—to greet football fans in Jakarta. Over three days, the tour occurred in three different areas: the SCBD car-free day area, Ashta District 8, and Sampoerna Strategic Square.
Jessica Setiawan, Marketing Director at Multi Bintang Indonesia (part of the Heineken Company), said that this year’s tour adopts a fresh concept of meeting fans at their workplaces. This concept aligns with the decision to hold the event on weekdays—specifically Monday and Tuesday.
“On Monday, if I’m stuck in the office in front of a laptop like this, it gets boring. We also know that 8 out of 10 office workers can’t watch Champions League matches because they air at 3 or 4 in the morning. So how do we honor the hardcore fans in Jakarta? This time, we’re coming to the office,” Jessica said at a press conference in Ashta District 8, South Jakarta (04/14).

First held in Indonesia in 2013
Bastian Schweinsteiger, UEFA Champions League winner in 2013, expressed his excitement about participating in this year’s Heineken Trophy Tour. He said, “It’s a pleasure being here in Indonesia. The supporters here are really passionate and form a strong community. We’re bringing the trophy closer to everyone, and that means a lot. I’m enjoying my time in Indonesia. It’s super hot, but I hope it cools down later.”
In an interview, Luís Nani, UEFA Champions League winner in 2008, shared how participating in the tour helps him reconnect with the game after retiring. “When we retire, we want to continue to feel the emotion of the game. Being part of this Champions League tour and meeting fans in Jakarta is amazing. It’s always great to feel that energy, to hear the Champions League anthem again—it brings back so many memories. We want to share that with you. We want to stay connected. All these years, you’ve been supporting us,” said Nani.
The UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour was first held in Indonesia in 2013, with around 10,000 people attending the exhibition at Gandaria City, South Jakarta, from April 10–14, 2013. In 2019, Heineken brought the tour to Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bali, featuring football legends Carles Puyol and Alessandro Del Piero. In 2024, Heineken hosted the ‘Meet the Trophy and Legend’ event in Jakarta, featuring two UCL legends—Nemanja Vidić and Fernando Morientes.
