Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s halal expo, Halal Fair Jakarta 2024, has been officially opened by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno (08/09). In his opening remarks, the Minister said Halal Fair Jakarta 2024 is a strategic platform for innovative halal business in Indonesia.
“As an inspiration for the halal lifestyle, I look forward to the Halal Fair 2024 Series becoming a significant part of the Sharia economy ecosystem in the national economy, driving the acceleration of MSME development and local creative economy players,” He added.
Furthermore, Sandiaga explained that the local halal products featured at the expo could be linked to developing Muslim-friendly tourism.
Meanwhile, the Project Director of Halal Fair, Satrio Sukur, stated that this Halal event, which has been held since 2019, is a strategic platform to enhance Sharia economic literacy, expand market share, and persuade the public to implement a halal lifestyle. As the most inspiring event, the Halal Fair has created a Halal Lifestyle trend that often becomes a reference for people conscious of engaging in trading activities following the Prophet’s teachings.
“We hold the expo as a series in Jakarta, BSD Tangerang, and Yogyakarta. We have attracted about 20,000 visitors, most of whom are families. In this agenda, we are optimistic to draw around 30,000 visitors,” Satrio said.
The Secretary General of MES Jakarta, Adang Adha, mentioned that the event could potentially become a locomotive for increasing Sharia economic and financial literacy, which currently stands at 23.3%.
“We aim to grow financial literacy by 50% over the next year. Implementing the three days of the Halal product expo at Balai Kartini Jakarta will help us achieve this,” Adang affirmed.
