Halal Expo Indonesia 2023 expects to attract 7,000 visitors domestic, foreign buyers, and investors, with a total transaction of US$10 million.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — Halal Expo Indonesia (HEI) is confirmed to be held on October 25-28, 2023 at ICE BSD, Tangerang, following its success in 2018 and 2019. Carrying the theme “Networking the Global Islamic Industries to the Indonesian Halal Ecosystem”, the exhibition will be attended by 300 exhibitors from Indonesia and 20 friendly countries.
As the organizer, PT Halal Expo Indonesia makes a strategic partnership with the Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneur Community (KPMI) and Aspenku to present HEI 2023 with the new concept of business-to-business (B2B). Previously, the exhibition was held in a hybrid B2B and B2C concept.
With the new concept, HEI targets around 17,000 visitors, both buyers and investors, from within the country and abroad. Occupied an area of 10,000 m2, several product categories are presented, spanning food and beverages, fashion, finance, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, property, education, as well as Umrah and Hajj travel.
CFO of PT Halal Expo Indonesia Aryo Wibisono delivered, “We facilitate participants who are entrepreneurs to export their products to a number of countries that are currently cooperation partners, particularly a number of countries in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and other countries.”
In addition, business actors also have the opportunity to establish partners with foreign producers. ” HEI also presents pavilions from friendly countries that want to expand to Indonesia as they need local partners,” said Aryo at the launch of the Halal Expo Indonesia in Jakarta (02/15).
Targeting transaction of US$10 million
Aryo is optimistic that HEI 2023 can achieve the transaction target of US$10 million. According to him, the event has strategic value for business actors to get to know the global market directly. Apart from that, the exhibition will also encourage them to improve product quality, quantity, and continuity as well as to meet global halal product certification standards. Halal certification is an essential point as a form of commitment to realizing Indonesia as the world’s center for halal producers in 2024.
The process of halal certification is still a chore that requires synchronization and coordination from related institutions and stakeholders. Business actors’ awareness also plays a significant role to apply for halal certification. The Indonesian Government regulates the first phasing period of mandatory halal certification to end on October 17, 2024. The products that must be halal certified are divided into several categories, namely food and beverages, raw materials, food additives, and auxiliary materials for food and beverage products, as well as slaughter products and services.
Further, this exhibition will be enlivened by attractive activities, including Halal Run, HEI Women, HEI Youth, HEI Creative & Art, HEI Edutainment Ground, HEI Cooking, and HEI Coffee. Business actors and exhibitors will also get opportunities for export guidance and facilitation during the event.
Meanwhile, Chairman of KPMI Rachmat Sutarnas Marpaung conveyed HEI received appreciation and support from a number of friendly countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tanzania, Oman, Qatar, Somalia, South Africa, Turkey, England, Syria, and Canada. They will come as exhibitors, buyers, and investors.
“The Halal Expo Indonesia exhibition is expected to represent the Indonesian halal industry and Islamic finance at a global level. Halal industry players can visit each other and negotiate. By facilitating them to meet more often (business matchmaking), we expect that mutually beneficial transactions will occur,” concluded Rachmat.
