Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC) collaborates with Gemalindo Kreasi Indonesia to present the Muslim Fashion Festival (Muffest+) from August 8-11, 2024, at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.
Held for the ninth time, this event is a trade exhibition and fashion show highlighting the diversity of culture and creativity of modest fashion products and the halal lifestyle in Indonesia. Adopting the theme ‘Flying to the Global Market,’ Muffest+ 2024 is ready to become a platform to proclaim Indonesian modest fashion as a trendsetter in local, national, and international markets, positioning Indonesia as the global hub for modest fashion.
Lenny Agustin, National Chair of the Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC), hopes that Muffest+ will further strengthen its role in promoting Indonesian modest fashion to the global market in its ninth year. She said, “Muffest+ has accompanied modest fashion brands in the country that have grown extraordinarily to reach the international level. As it matures, Muffest+ must create hype so that the modest fashion industry can expand, even reaching younger segments.”

This year’s event will emphasize the concept of sustainability, which has been implemented since 2020. This concept is not only reflected in the finished products but also in the upstream to downstream processes that support the creation of international-standard modest fashion products. The fashion show and trade exhibition will include various modest styles, including streetwear, evening wear, urban, contemporary, and Sharia from 175 brands.
Featuring Hivi and Voice of Baceprot
According to Irvan Mahidin, CEO of Gemalindo Kreasi Indonesia, this year’s event has a fresh and youthful touch, reflected in the choice of venue at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, which is considered a gathering hub for Gen Z and millennials. With this new concept, Irvan is optimistic that the transaction target of Rp5 billion, approximately US$306,891 (US$1 equals Rp16,292), will be exceeded in the four-day event.
“Furthermore, the fashion show is synergized with performances by young musicians like Hivi and Voice of Baceprot (VoB). In line with the theme ‘Flying to the Global Market,’ Muffest+ offers visitors a different experience with an airport-like ambiance,” Irvan explained.

On the other hand, Muffest+ is part of the Road to Indonesia International Modest Fashion Festival (IN2MF) 2024 activities, showcasing collections by members of Industri Kreatif Syariah (Ikra) Indonesia and SMEs nurtured by Bank Indonesia. IN2MF and the Ikra program are efforts by Bank Indonesia to support the end-to-end development of the modest fashion ecosystem, particularly in promoting market access, strengthening the capacity of business actors, and access to financing.
“The international market potential for modest fashion is vast, but many Indonesian modest fashion industry players are not yet ready to go global. Therefore, Bank Indonesia steps in to help drive the fashion sector, and it is evident that Indonesia’s fashion sector has its unique characteristics, supported by local designers,” said Ita Rulina, Head of the Economic and Sharia Finance Empowerment Group at DEKS Bank Indonesia.
This year’s Muffest+ is organized in synergistic cooperation with various parties, including Wardah as the official makeup and skincare partner, Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) as the official bank, Asia Pacific Rayon (APR), and Gistex as the sponsor. The event is supported by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Bali Coffee Club, Habitare Apart Hotel Rusuna Jakarta, YOU C1000, Bank Indonesia with its IN2MF as an event partner, and Hijabersmom as a community partner.
