Heaptalk, Jakarta — Binus School Serpong, deeply realized that it holds a critical role in building the future leader. Thus, the school that is part of Bina Nusantara Institution initiated various programs to grow its students’ potential with a unique, innovative method. At an official conference held on Thursday (28/10), Binus School Serpong delivered its achievement after applying the programs, which later has channeled benefits, not solely to the students but also to society.

Commonly, people consider that achievement in education only can be measured from the academic perspective, thus they tend to emphasize the learning process on every lesson related to academic things. However, the school completely comprehends that its students also have potentials that can be developed more than a theory paper, a great potential that can keep up with the 21st century and empower society.

Referring to the notion, the school has coined an opportunity to its student to explore their talents as well as deliver a meaningful impact to society. The school located in Serpong, South Tangerang, has provided facilities for the students to learn the field they are interested in, such as music, sports, etc. The measure has allowed the students to obtain extra skills, providing value-added to the students’ portfolios.

In addition, the positive sphere formed has enabled the students to carry out several social activities that are expected to generate a positive impact on the nation. The activities include delivering aid for those who are less privileged, holding an activity concerning mental health, performing environmental care activities, etc.

The activities are reflected from several events held by Binus School Serpong, for example, distributing donations, and the source of funds derives from the profit of the event organized by the students, namely “Charity Market”. The school, moreover, has held fundraising for orangutans and planting mangrove seeds for supporting a sustainability environment.

“Here, our learners happily enjoy the opportunities to study in a nurturing environment while discovering their potentials and champion their future. Through a qualified and dedicated team, our community seeks a constant balance in developing the soft and hard skills of our young Binusians,” said Early Childhood and Elementary Years Principal Anwin Samsudi.

Executing all of its learning programs well places Binus School Serpong in the third-best school in South Tangerang, the sixth-best school in Banten, and the thirty-eight best school nationwide based on the 2021 Computer-Based Writing Test. The presence of the school is expected to unite the ecosystem, namely students, educators, industry players, communities, society, and government, through world-class education.

“Young people today are overwhelmed by information and experiences through technology, which sometimes is beyond their age and ability to comprehend. At Binus School Serpong, we work together to strike a balanced education of both mind and heart. We believe this is the essence of a home for learning,” stated Ms. Sherrierose Gonzalez as Principal of Middle and High school of Binus School Serpong.
