Heaptalk, Jakarta — Tiket.com, Indonesia’s leading online travel agent (OTA), has established a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Tourism to promote more inclusive and sustainable tourism growth in Indonesia. The company’s representatives recently met with the Ministry’s new leadership as an initial step to align strategies and design collaborative initiatives throughout 2025. This partnership includes Tiket Green and the Jagoan Pariwisata program, which means tourism champions.
Tiket Green is Tiket.com’s initiative to provide travelers easy access to eco-friendly accommodations that implement sustainable practices. This aligns with the Ministry’s Gerakan Wisata Bersih, a clean tourism movement that aims to maintain cleanliness, sustainability, and the quality of tourist destinations across Indonesia.
Jagoan Pariwisata, part of Tiket.com’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiative since 2022, is supported by the Ministry’s Deputy for Resources and Institutions. The program has assisted over 205 local businesses across 15 tourism villages, guided by 79 mentors from Tiket.com’s employees (t-fams). This supports the Ministry’s goal of developing community-based tourism villages as a key pillar of sustainable tourism.
Developing community-based tourism villages

Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa expressed appreciation for this ongoing collaboration. According to her, current tourism trends have shifted, with travelers increasingly seeking more intimate and meaningful experiences, focusing on positive environmental and social impacts. Therefore, the Ministry emphasizes the importance of transitioning to quality and sustainable tourism, prioritizing value and experience over mere visitor numbers.
“We also see great potential in developing community-based tourism villages as a crucial pillar. With this approach, the benefits of tourism can directly impact local communities, both economically and socially,” Ni Luh stated.
Over the past four years, Tiket.com and the Ministry of Tourism have collaborated through various strategic programs. The continuation of this synergy aims to accelerate tourism transformation, particularly in expanding digital access for tourism stakeholders, boosting domestic travel, and promoting tourism villages and regional cultural festivals.
Meanwhile, Gaery Undarsa, Co-Founder & Chief Marketing Officer of Tiket.com, affirmed the company’s commitment to serving as a strategic partner in developing inclusive, sustainable, and socially impactful tourism. “This synergy strengthens both parties, especially through data-driven policy-making for more targeted regulations. We hope this collaboration will deliver higher-quality travel experiences while preserving Indonesia’s cultural values and destination sustainability,” Gaery concluded.
