Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of Housing and Settlements (PKP) has partnered with four government agencies to provide 4,000 subsidized housing units for civil servants (ASN).
Each institution — the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), National Institute of Public Administration (LAN), National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI), and the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) — will receive 1,000 units through the subsidized mortgage scheme (KPR).
During a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony in Jakarta on Thursday (05/22), Minister of Housing and Settlements Maruarar Sirait emphasized the government’s commitment to expanding access to decent housing for public servants. He noted that this collaboration is part of a broader strategy to improve the welfare of civil servants.
“This is not just about building houses; it’s about providing security and motivation for our civil servants. With accurate data from each institution, we are prepared to increase the housing allocation if needed,” said Maruarar.
He added that under President Prabowo Subianto’s administration, the government has increased the FLPP (Housing Financing Liquidity Facility) mortgage quota from 220,000 to 350,000 units. The program will also be extended to 22 segments of society, including informal workers.
“I want to ensure justice is truly felt. Fishermen, farmers, domestic workers — they all deserve decent housing. This is a direct mandate from the President as part of the 3 Million Homes Program to reach all layers of society,” he said.
Minister of PANRB, Rini Widyantini, welcomed the initiative and emphasized that the MoU is not only a technical collaboration but also a real commitment to strengthening employee data systems and supporting civil servant welfare.
“Thank you to the Ministry of Housing for this support. Providing decent housing is crucial for creating a professional and well-supported civil service,” Rini stated.
She highlighted that accurate civil servant data is essential to the success of the housing initiative and sees this inter-ministerial cooperation as part of a larger effort to enhance public service quality.
“This MoU is not just a ceremonial formality. It represents a synergy in supporting the national strategic program to provide 3 million homes, and to ensure that our civil servants can carry out their duties with dignity and stability,” she added.
Through this collaboration, the government hopes that the subsidized housing program will serve not only as a symbol of care but as a concrete solution to meet the basic needs of civil servants and their families across the country.
