Heaptalk, Jakarta – Minister of Public Housing and Settlements (PKP) Maruarar Sirait has encouraged members of the Association of Indonesian Housing Developers (APERSI) to actively communicate field-level challenges to the ministry, emphasizing that their input will be crucial to the successful implementation of the government’s 3 million houses program.
During a halal bihalal event with the APERSI community in Jakarta (04/21), APERSI, further, had conveyed concerns over inefficiencies in the handling of land and building acquisition duties (BPHTB) and building approval permits (PBG) at the local level.
In response to this matter, Minister Ara pledged to coordinate with the Ministry of Home Affairs to resolve the matter.
“Let’s build homes for the people without empty promises. If you’re facing issues—come to me—we’ll find solutions together,” he said.
For this action, APERSI chairman Junaidi Abdullah expressed his grateful to Minister Maruarar. He, also, delivered the organization’s full support for the government’s housing initiative, stating that the central board and its 26 regional chapters are prepared to contribute to the program’s success.
“We at APERSI are ready to offer our best efforts in delivering housing for the people. We also hope to continue receiving guidance and support from the ministry,” he said.
During the agenda, Minister Maruarar also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the government and housing developers to ensure equitable access to quality housing for all Indonesians.
“The Ministry and APERSI both want to serve the interests of developers and the people. Differences of opinion are part of a healthy democracy,” Maruarar said. “I know I am far from perfect—only God is perfect—but I am committed to listening and improving.”
Minister Maruarar called on developers to maintain professionalism and deliver high-quality housing projects. He also reiterated his commitment to building a ministry that is transparent, free from corruption, and trusted by both the public and industry stakeholders.
