Heaptalk, Jakarta — To foster gender equality in society, OCBC has launched the #BaiknyaBarengBareng campaign which means better together. Aleta Hanafi, Brand and Communication Lead at OCBC, explained during a media talk on Tuesday (03/04) that this campaign emphasizes equal opportunities for everyone to contribute in all fields.
“This movement is part of our aspiration to inspire the idea that progress requires opportunities for everyone to contribute without being influenced by any biases, including gender,” said Aleta. She further stated that the initiative aims to broaden perspectives and encourage all parties to work together to build an inclusive society environment.
Phillia Wibowo from McKinsey & Company explained that equality is not solely a women’s issue but a shared struggle. Therefore, she hopes this movement can open minds and motivate all stakeholders. The early quarter of 2025, coinciding with the momentum leading up to International Women’s Day, is the perfect time to introduce the #BaiknyaBarengBareng campaign.
According to recent findings from McKinsey & Company’s annual report on workplace gender equality titled Women in the Workplace, over the past decade, the representation of women in corporate management has increased, with around 29% now holding C-level positions, compared to 17% in 2015.
“However, this progress tends to be slower compared to the early career stages, such as entry-level and middle management roles. For example, for every 100 men promoted from entry-level to manager positions, only 81 women receive the same promotion opportunity,” Phillia said.
Meanwhile, Denny Sumargo, a content creator and actor, highlighted the importance of collaboration between men and women in daily life, based on his experience as a husband. “In my family, I believe that strong collaboration between my wife and me is the key to our success. We complement each other in everything, from managing household responsibilities to growing our business together,” Denny concluded.
