Heaptalk, Jakarta — Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas met with Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian at the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry’s office on Monday (07/01).
During the meeting, Abdullah Azwar Anas appreciated the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) ‘s implementation of bureaucratic reforms and performance accountability. This is evidenced by the continuous improvement in the Bureaucratic Reform Index and the Government Institution Performance Accountability System Index, called SAKIP, of the Home Affairs Ministry over the past five years.
“We appreciate the performance of the Home Affairs Ministry as its bureaucratic reform index has continuously improved, reaching an A rating in 2023. Likewise, the SAKIP Index has also improved and recently achieved an excellent rating. The Kemendagri’s scores are above the average bureaucratic reform and SAKIP scores for ministries/agencies in 2023,” said Minister Anas after he met with Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian.
Minister Anas revealed that the increase in the Home Affairs Ministry’s bureaucratic reform index was not only due to the excellent implementation of general bureaucratic reforms within the institution but also supported by its contribution to executing the five thematic focuses of bureaucratic reform.
“The Home Affairs Ministry has played a significant role in implementing thematic bureaucratic reforms, especially focusing on poverty alleviation and inflation control, which has significantly boosted its thematic bureaucratic reform scores. Many ministries and agencies have seen their bureaucratic reform scores decline as they did not implement thematic bureaucratic reforms,” added Minister Anas.
On that occasion, Minister of Home Affairs M. Tito Karnavian stated that the Ministry of Home Affairs continues to strive to implement bureaucratic reform and SAKIP at Kemendagri effectively. He emphasized that this implementation aims to create professional bureaucrats.
“Good implementation of bureaucratic reform and SAKIP also marks a positive change in the bureaucracy, indicated by high bureaucratic reform scores and good performance reflected in the SAKIP scores. We are grateful for the guidance and support from the PANRB Ministry, which has motivated us to perform better and create an efficient bureaucracy,” concluded Minister Tito in his remarks.
