Heaptalk, Jakarta—PT Bank Digital BCA (BCA Digital) signed a collaboration agreement with the national airline Garuda Indonesia to launch a co-branding debit card today (05/20). BCA Digital CEO Lanny Budiati and Garuda Indonesia CEO Irfan Setiaputra signed the agreement at BCA Digital’s office.
The co-branding debit card combines Indonesia’s leading airline with a branchless digital bank, offering convenience and benefits for customers, especially for traveling needs. According to Lanny Budiati, 90% of Blu customers are Millennials and Gen Z who love traveling.
“With this co-branding debit card, we aim to provide additional benefits for our customers during their travels. We are delighted to partner with Garuda Indonesia, a renowned national airline. This will be BCA Digital’s second debit card. This collaboration motivates us to continuously bring relevant and innovative solutions while expanding our digital ecosystem to provide ease and convenience to our customers’ financial needs,” Lanny said.
Customers can obtain this co-branding debit card by applying through the Blu app without queuing at branches. They will also automatically become GarudaMiles members. This allows them to immediately use the co-branding debit card for transactions and enjoy various benefits, such as special mileage programs from BCA Digital and premium services from Garuda Indonesia.
Lanny added, “We also welcome existing GarudaMiles members to open Blu accounts and apply for this co-branding debit card. The card, targeted to be launched in the last quarter of 2024, will be made from recycled PVC, supporting environmental sustainability as part of both companies’ commitment to environmental sustainability.”
Enhancing the service value
Meanwhile, Irfan Setiaputra stated that this co-branding collaboration demonstrates Garuda Indonesia‘s commitment to providing added value for the public in planning their travels with Garuda Indonesia through the Blu by BCA Digital application.
“The various conveniences brought by technological advancements today have changed people’s behavior in activities, including planning and undertaking travel. This shift in behavior is an opportunity that we must respond to with readiness and agility to adapt, as well as create product/service innovations that meet their needs through the availability of premium services and excellent travel experiences in Garuda Indonesia’s flight services, which we optimize through this collaboration with our strategic partner, BCA Digital,” Irfan elaborated.
He continued, “This collaboration with BCA Digital is expected to enhance the service value for customers of both companies and help Garuda Indonesia increase its market share, particularly among Gen Z and Millennials, who make up the majority of BCA Digital’s users.”
Thus, this collaboration is expected to provide significant benefits to the customers of both companies and introduce new breakthroughs in Indonesia’s financial and aviation industries. This commitment aligns with the vision of both companies to continually deliver high-quality and innovative services to their customers while also considering environmental sustainability and the growth of Indonesia’s tourism sector.
