Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT Espay Debit Indonesia Koe (DANA) and SOE’s ATM network integration management company, PT Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara (Jalin), officially partnered to develop payment processing (switching) technology based on Quick Response Indonesia Standard (QRIS) in the Link network.
DANA’s integration into the Link network is expected to strengthen its position in penetrating service expansion to other Jalin members. As stated by the Main Director of Jalin, Ario Tejo Bayu Aji, the interconnection of DANA and Jalin can expand the acceptance of financial services covering the banking, Regional Development Banks (BPDs), and fintech sectors regarding the use of QRIS between countries with a broader scope.
Currently, the government continues to encourage the role of the fintech industry in increasing access to financial services, specifically for society in villages, remote areas, low-income communities, and MSMEs. They are crucial to achieving the national financial inclusion target of 90% by 2024. With multiple financing access provided, underserved societies can obtain more significant advantages by implementing QRIS from various payment system Infrastructures (PIPs) such as Jalin.
Moreover, according to Bank Indonesia (BI), the QRIS transaction grew 175.44% YoY in the first quarter of 2024, with users reaching 48.12 and merchants around 31.61 million in Indonesia, demonstrating a pivotal role of QRIS implementation in simplifying people to perform digital transaction.
Established in 2018, DANA provides payment, digital wallet, voucher, and investment services for the Business-to-consumer (B2C) and Business-to-Customer (B2B) sectors. Since its inception, DANA has reached more than 180 million users in Indonesia. In 2023, this e-wallet platform recorded user growth of up to 23%, reaching 170 million people last year. This positive growth demonstrates the high public adoption of payment and digital financial services.
Besides generating significant user enhancements, this startup also noted the QRIS transaction improvement, reaching 272% YoY in 2023. Meanwhile, the DANA’s Send Money feature increased 147% last year.
Meanwhile, Jalin possessed more than 45 members from the banking and fintech sectors who are members of Link, including Bank Mandiri, BSI, BRI, BCA, LinkAja, and ShopeePay.
“We believe the partnership we continue to carry out is the gate for creating an inclusive and financially healthy Indonesian society, including collaborating with partners such as Jalin, which has the “Link” network service.” CEO and Co-Founder of DANA, Vince Iswara, said.
