Heaptalk, Jakarta – BCA-backed digital bank, Blu by BCA Digital, has collaborated with Mastercard to roll out bluDebit Card on Tuesday (10/24). The presence of this card is expected to answer society’s need to conduct transactions abroad and drive national financial inclusion, particularly in several areas that do not provide QRIS as the payment method.
BCA Digital’s Head of Card and Personal Loan Business Rainer Sutedja explained, “We found the demand for debit card remains high. In the post covid, the trend of traveling abroad has increased significantly. Also, in several regions in Indonesia, many merchants do not provide QRIS as the payment method. Therefore, we launched bluDebit to assist our consumers in conducting a transaction everywhere.”

Rainer also conveyed that this card brings multiple innovations, one of which is the deletion of the card number and CVV that is claimed will escalate the digital security for the users.
“Information about users’ card numbers and CVVs can be accessed through our platform. If the card is lost or stolen, no one can access their bank account. This innovation is adopted to improve our security and enhance user experience,” added Rainer during the Launch of bluDebit Card in Jakarta on Tuesday (10/24).
In order to attract millennials and Gen Z who put their concerns to sustainability, the digital bank has employed eco-friendly card materials. The card is also equipped with contactless payments to provide seamless, reliable, and convenient services for public transportation users overseas.
Supported by Mastercard, which has partnered with 90 million merchants worldwide, and National Payment Gateway (GPN), bluDebit can serve both domestic and international transactions.
Responding to the presence of this card, the Director of Mastercard Indonesia, Wibawa Prasetyawan stated, “I would like to congratulate Blu By BCA Digital for the launch of bluDebit, we are committed to accelerating the national financial inclusion to overcome (financial inclusion) gap. This measure also is aligned with the government’s vision.”
Celebrating the launch of this card, Blu by BCA presents attractive promotions, such as discounts of up to 50% in Kopi Kenangan café, cashback of up to 50% in Chigo, and more. By offering these promotions, Rainer stated that one-third of Blu users have applied for the card.
